Terms & Conditions

Last updated: August 2026

These Terms & Conditions apply to bookings for private boat trips, excursions and related services provided by MARO Red Sea in Hurghada, Egypt.

By making a booking, the person making the reservation confirms that they have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions on behalf of themselves and all guests included in the booking.

2.Bookings

Bookings may be made through our website or through authorised third-party booking platforms.

Bookings are considered confirmed once a booking confirmation has been issued. Payment is due on arrival before departure.

The person making the booking must be at least 18 years old and is responsible for providing accurate information for all guests included in the reservation.

Customers should check their booking confirmation carefully and contact MARO Red Sea as soon as possible if any information is incorrect.

Bookings made through Viator, Tripadvisor or another third-party platform may be subject to the booking and payment process of that platform.

3.Prices

Prices displayed on our website are based on the selected trip, number of guests and any optional extras selected.

Unless otherwise stated, MARO Red Sea trips are private trips for your group only, with a maximum capacity of 8 guests.

Any additional services or optional extras not included in the selected booking may be charged separately.

The full price and any additional mandatory charges will be shown before the booking is completed.

Prices may change from time to time. Any price change made after a booking has been confirmed will not affect that confirmed booking.

4.Payment

For direct bookings made through the MARO Red Sea website, payment is due on arrival before departure.

We accept:

  • Cash payments in EUR, USD or EGP
  • Credit card payments

For cash payments made in a currency different from the booking currency, the applicable exchange rate at the time of payment will apply.

Payment must be completed before departure.

5.Cancellations

Bookings made with MARO Red Sea are binding.

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before departure are free of charge. For cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure, or in the event of a no-show, the full booking amount remains due. In exceptional circumstances, MARO Red Sea may offer rescheduling subject to availability.

Full details are set out in our Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms & Conditions.

6.Weather and Sea Conditions

Guest safety always comes first.

Boat trips are subject to suitable weather and sea conditions and to any instructions, restrictions or decisions issued by the relevant Egyptian authorities and the Egyptian Coast Guard.

The final decision on whether boats are permitted to operate is always made by the Egyptian Coast Guard. MARO Red Sea must comply with this decision.

If the Coast Guard does not permit the trip to operate, or if the trip cannot take place due to an official safety restriction outside the customer's control, we will offer either:

  • an alternative date, where possible; or
  • a full refund of the amount paid for the cancelled trip.

Weather and sea conditions can change quickly, and Coast Guard decisions may sometimes be issued or changed shortly before the scheduled departure.

7.Changes to the Itinerary

The route, swimming locations, snorkelling locations, sandbanks, islands and other stops shown in trip descriptions are subject to actual sea conditions, visibility, weather, safety considerations and local restrictions on the day.

The captain may change the sequence, location or duration of individual stops where reasonably necessary for safety or operational reasons.

Such adaptations do not constitute a cancellation and do not give rise to any right to a refund, provided that the booked services and overall experience are still delivered.

8.Marine Life

Wildlife encounters take place in a natural environment.

Although some trips may visit areas where dolphins, fish or other marine life are regularly found, wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.

The absence of a particular animal or marine-life sighting does not constitute failure to provide the booked service and does not give rise to a refund.

9.Departure and Hotel Pickup

Guests must be ready at the confirmed meeting point or hotel pickup location at the communicated time.

Hotel pickup times may initially be approximate. The final pickup time will be provided once the arrangements for the booking have been confirmed.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate hotel details, room number where requested, telephone/WhatsApp contact details and other information reasonably required to organise the transfer.

If guests arrive late, MARO Red Sea will make reasonable efforts to accommodate them where operationally possible. However, late arrival may result in a shortened trip.

If departure can no longer reasonably be delayed, failure to appear may be treated as a no-show.

10.Guest Responsibilities and Safety

All guests must follow the safety instructions of the captain at all times.

Guests must inform MARO Red Sea before departure of any circumstances that may reasonably affect their ability to participate safely in the booked activity.

Basic swimming confidence is recommended for guests wishing to participate in swimming or snorkelling activities.

Children must remain under the supervision of a responsible adult at all times.

Life jackets and required safety equipment are available on board and must be used whenever instructed by the captain.

The captain has final authority regarding navigation, swimming conditions, snorkelling activities and safety on board.

A guest may be prevented from participating in any activity where the captain reasonably considers that participation could endanger that guest, other guests or the boat. Such a decision is made for safety reasons and does not constitute grounds for a refund.

11.Alcohol, Drugs and Inappropriate Behaviour

Guests must not participate in the trip while under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol to an extent that may compromise safety.

MARO Red Sea may refuse participation or terminate a guest's participation where their behaviour creates a safety risk, seriously disrupts the trip, endangers another person or may damage the boat or equipment.

No refund will normally be provided where participation is refused or terminated because of such behaviour.

12.Personal Belongings

Guests remain responsible for their personal belongings during the trip.

MARO Red Sea cannot accept responsibility for loss of or damage to personal items such as phones, cameras, jewellery, sunglasses, clothing or other belongings, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

Guests are strongly advised to protect electronic devices and valuables from water while on board.

13.Photos and Videos

Guests may take personal photographs and videos during their trip provided this does not interfere with the safe operation of the boat or the privacy and enjoyment of others.

MARO Red Sea will not use identifiable photographs or videos of guests for advertising or promotional purposes without appropriate permission.

14.Third-Party Services

Some elements of a trip may involve services provided by third parties, such as hotel transfers, island facilities, entrance services or optional activities.

Where a third party independently provides a service, that provider's operational requirements may also apply.

MARO Red Sea will take reasonable care when arranging third-party services included in the booking but cannot control circumstances entirely outside its reasonable control.

15.Liability

MARO Red Sea will provide its services with reasonable care and in accordance with applicable safety requirements.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

MARO Red Sea is not responsible for failure or delay caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including official Coast Guard restrictions, government restrictions, harbour closures, severe weather or unsafe sea conditions.

16.Complaints

If a problem occurs during the trip, guests should inform the captain or MARO Red Sea as soon as reasonably possible so that we have an opportunity to address it.

If the matter cannot be resolved during the trip, please contact:

Email: info@maroredsea.com
Phone / WhatsApp: +20 150 507 2650

Please provide your booking reference, trip date and details of the issue.

17.Personal Data

Personal information supplied in connection with a booking may be used to process and administer the reservation, communicate with guests, arrange transfers, provide the booked services, process payments where applicable and comply with legal or regulatory obligations.

Further details are provided in our separate Privacy Policy.

18.Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions and services provided by MARO Red Sea are governed by the applicable laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Any dispute will be handled by the competent Egyptian courts, subject to any mandatory rights or procedures available under applicable law.

19.Changes to These Terms

MARO Red Sea may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The Terms & Conditions applicable to a booking will normally be the version presented to the customer at the time the booking is made, except where a change is required by applicable law.
